Abstract

Green synthesis of metal nanoparticles using medicinal plants has emerged as an eco-friendly and cost-effective approach for developing biologically active nanomaterials. In the present study, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized using the aqueous extract of Althaea officinalis as a natural reducing and stabilizing agent. The formation of AuNPs was initially confirmed by a visible color change from pale yellow to ruby red and further characterized by UV–Visible spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and dynamic light scattering (DLS) analyses.
