Abstract

Gender-based violence and discrimination are ongoing global issues, and traditional reporting methods often miss the mark when it comes to capturing the full extent of these gender crimes. This is largely due to underreporting, stigma, and systemic obstacles. This research dives into how artificial intelligence and technology can play a transformative role in promoting gender inclusivity by improving crime tracking and reporting systems.
AI-powered platforms have changed the game for documenting gender crimes. They offer anonymous reporting options, use predictive analytics to spot crime patterns, and automate data analysis to uncover trends in gender-based violence that might have gone unnoticed before. Machine learning algorithms can sift through massive datasets from various sources, like social media, emergency services, and legal records, to create detailed maps showing where gender crimes are most prevalent.
Some key innovations include natural language processing systems that analyze victim testimonies while keeping their identities confidential, sentiment analysis tools that pick up on emotional distress in communications, and chatbot interfaces that provide round the clock support for survivors. These technologies are particularly effective in reaching marginalized communities that might hesitate to approach traditional law enforcement.
That said, there are still hurdles to overcome, such as algorithmic bias that could reinforce existing gender stereotypes, privacy issues surrounding sensitive data collection, and the digital divide that restricts access for vulnerable groups. The research highlights that for AI to be successfully implemented, it's crucial to pay close attention to intersectionality, cultural sensitivity, and to involve survivors and advocacy groups in the design process.
Recent findings indicate that AI-powered reporting systems can boost disclosure rates by an impressive 35-60% compared to traditional methods, all while slashing case analysis processing time by as much as 70%. These innovative technologies hold great potential for developing more inclusive and responsive systems that cater to all gender identities and expressions. The study wraps up by highlighting that, although AI offers significant opportunities to promote gender justice, its deployment should be steered by ethical guidelines that emphasize survivor agency, data protection, and community-focused strategies. This way, technology can truly empower rather than marginalize.
