Abstract
Abstract
The twenty-first century has seen an unparalleled rise in human migration, which has been exacerbated by conflicts, persecution, and climate change. The dispute between refugees and climate refugees has drawn immediate attention because it has significant implications for the preservation of human rights. International law, particularly the 1951 Refugee Convention, provides protection to those who have fled their countries due to persecution, conflict, or natural disasters. People who have been displaced due to natural disasters, environmental degradation, or climate change are considered climate refugees, even though international law does not yet recognise them as a distinct category. The clash between refugees and climate refugees raises a number of human rights problems, including the rights to life and dignity, asylum.
