Abstract

Precision agriculture leverages Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) tools to enhance the monitoring, diagnosis, and management of crop
diseases with high accuracy and efficiency. The integration of tools such as
remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), drones, mobile-based
apps, and artificial intelligence enables real-time disease surveillance, early
warning systems, and data-driven decision-making. These technologies help
in identifying disease outbreaks at an early stage, applying site-specific
treatments, and reducing the overuse of agrochemicals. ICT-based disease
monitoring not only improves crop health and yield but also contributes to
sustainable and cost-effective farming practices by optimizing resource use
and minimizing environmental impact.
