The socio-cultural satisfaction of Indian Expatriates in Gulf Co-Operation (GCC) Countries: A gendered analysis

This study examines the socio-cultural satisfaction of Indian expatriates living and working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It focuses on their experiences related to cultural adaptation, social relationships, community participation, workplace interactions, family life, and preservation of Indian cultural values. The study explores how employment conditions, social support, cultural integration, and living environments influence expatriates’ overall socio-cultural satisfaction. Indian expatriates contribute significantly to the economic development of both India and GCC countries through employment, remittances, and social engagement. The study highlights the importance of social inclusion, cultural identity, community networks, and supportive living conditions in improving their well-being and satisfaction abroad.
