Abstract

The rapid expansion of e-commerce presents both opportunities and challenges
for start-ups and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Building a sustainable e-commerce ecosystem requires an integrated approach that combines legal
compliance, strategic planning, and collaborative innovation. This paper explores
key legal frameworks governing digital commerce, including data protection, consumer rights, and intellectual property, and examines how adherence to these laws can serve as a foundation for trust and long-term viability. Additionally, the study
outlines strategic imperatives such as digital infrastructure development, user experience optimization, and agile business models tailored to resource-constrained
environments. The paper also highlights the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration—among entrepreneurs, platforms, regulators, and service providers—in
fostering a resilient digital marketplace.
