Abstract

Internationalization in higher education has become a pivotal strategy for univer- sities and academic institutions worldwide, reflecting the increasing interconnect- edness of societies, economies, and knowledge systems. The concept encompasses the deliberate integration of global, intercultural, and international dimensions into the teaching, research, service, and governance functions of higher education institutions. It is not merely about increasing the number of international students or faculty but involves embedding global perspectives into curricula, fostering cross- border collaborations, and preparing students to thrive in an increasingly complex, multicultural, and interdependent world. Understanding the importance of internationalisation requires examining its multifaceted benefits, ranging from academic excellence and cultural enrichment to economic growth, innovation, and global engagement. Enhancing Academic Quality and Excellence is one of the pri- mary reasons for pursuing internationalization in higher education.
