The sale of alcohol in government-authorized retail outlets such as TASMAC requires strict monitoring to
prevent underage drinking and control excessive consumption. However, current systems lack digital
verification, proper identity validation, and effective purchase regulation mechanisms, leading to misuse and
lack of accountability.
This project proposes a Smart TASMAC Customer Verification and Monitoring System using Face Recognition
with Consumption Control. The system captures the customer’s face during the billing process to ensure
identity verification and maintain a digital record of transactions. It also calculates the total alcohol content of
selected products using standard alcohol measurement formulas and restricts purchases that exceed a
predefined consumption limit.
The system is implemented as a Point of Sale (POS) application using the MERN stack, where the admin
dashboard primarily handles sales data, billing operations, and transaction records. This approach ensures
simplicity, efficiency, and real-time monitoring of purchases without adding unnecessary complexity.
The proposed system promotes responsible alcohol consumption, prevents underage drinking, and provides a
scalable digital solution for modern retail management.
